"Living through war, racism, separation from loved ones, oppression, immigration, assimilation, falling and getting up again more resolute, more clear, even stronger taught me one important lesson: we can choose to be thrivers instead of survivors, victors instead of victims, and healed instead of wounded. The Center for Healing & Personal Growth was created with the vision to stand for humanistic, heart-centered, trauma-informed genuine care to anyone who dares to ask for help, and dreams of healing those deep scars that still hurt everyday, and a better, brighter future."

- Dr. Ronit Farzam

Dr. Ronit Farzam is the founder, director, and clinical supervisor at the Center for Healing and Personal Growth, where she has created a sanctuary for healing that reflects her profound understanding of human resilience and transformation.

As a licensed clinical psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Master's degrees in both Marriage and Family Therapy and Linguistics, she brings unparalleled expertise to her work with trauma survivors and individuals seeking profound personal growth. Her journey from surviving war-torn Iran as a member of a religious minority to becoming a respected expert witness in trauma and PTSD cases embodies the very transformation she helps her clients achieve.

Dr. Farzam's therapeutic approach integrates cutting-edge research with deeply humanistic principles, utilizing multiple evidence-based modalities including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, Hypnotherapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), as well as Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. As a trilingual therapist fluent in English, Persian, and Spanish, she provides culturally responsive care that honors diverse backgrounds and lived experiences. Her approach is founded on the revolutionary belief that "our traumas don't have to define us and rob us of our potential in life—our traumas can inspire us, motivate us, and become the driving force for us to reach our potential."

Born in Tehran, Iran during the 1977 revolution, Dr. Farzam's earliest memories include the sounds of war, experiences of religious persecution, and the profound kindness of neighbors who taught her to "see beyond what the eyes could see." These formative experiences of surviving an 8-year war, facing antisemitism, and learning to love people across all differences shaped her calling to hold space for others' pain. Even as a child, she naturally became a confidant to friends and neighbors, unknowingly preparing for her life's work. After immigrating to the United States at 18, working at McDonald's for $4.25 an hour, and discovering UCLA campus during an exhausted bus ride, she pursued her education with unwavering determination, ultimately recognizing therapy as her destiny when she first sat across from a therapist and saw her life's purpose reflected back.

Dr. Farzam has published extensively in psychology, worked as a researcher in UCLA's Cognitive Psychology Department, and serves as a respected expert witness in legal proceedings. Her expertise spans individual, couples, family, and group therapy across diverse populations and age groups. She considers therapy "an art with its roots in science," offering highly individualized treatment plans that maximize each client's potential. Her clients consistently describe her as warm, caring, knowledgeable, and genuine, often sharing that they learn something transformative in every session.
