  • César's integrated treatment approach for co-occurring disorders helps clients address trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance use together, building practical tools for emotional regulation and relapse prevention rather than treating these concerns in isolation.

  • His somatic and trauma-informed training allows clients to develop deeper awareness of how trauma affects the body and nervous system, fostering a greater sense of safety and control beyond traditional talk therapy alone.

  • César's bilingual, culturally responsive practice reflects a deep understanding of Latino family systems, intergenerational patterns, and cultural values around masculinity and emotional expression, honoring clients' heritage while supporting meaningful change.

"I do this work because people often carry pain for years without having a place to understand it. I hope therapy helps clients recognize why they cope the way they do, feel more at home in their bodies, and make choices from awareness instead of survival."

- César Reséndiz

You may appear strong and capable while privately struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, relationship difficulties, or the pressure to keep everything together.

I work with adults experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. I feel comfortable working with adults of all ages, children and adolescents, couples and families but I am especially interested in supporting men, veterans, military-connected individuals, and LGBTQ+ clients who may have learned to cope through isolation, emotional shutdown, anger, overworking, avoidance, or substance use.

My approach is direct, compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in respect. Therapy is not about judging how you survived. It is about understanding what happened, recognizing the patterns that developed, and building healthier ways to respond. Together, we can address unresolved trauma, shame, emotional disconnection, relapse patterns, relationship difficulties, identity concerns, and major life transitions.

I provide somatic-based therapy that considers how stress and trauma are experienced in both the mind and body. We may explore physical sensations, emotional responses, triggers, and nervous system patterns to help you feel more grounded, present, and connected to yourself. I integrate somatic principles with trauma-informed care, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, TF-CBT, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

As a bilingual Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I have worked across psychotherapy, crisis response, substance use treatment, intensive outpatient care, supportive services, and community behavioral health programs. My work is culturally responsive and recognizes how family, culture, masculinity, discrimination, poverty, and life experiences can affect mental health and recovery.

Beginning therapy can feel uncomfortable, especially if you have been expected to remain strong or manage problems alone. My goal is to provide a practical, nonjudgmental space where you can speak honestly, understand yourself more fully, reconnect with your strengths, and create meaningful change.
