Brittany's background in psychological assessment has taught her to look beyond a single concern and stay curious about the whole person, considering experiences, strengths, relationships, and environment in her therapeutic work.
Her extensive experience with neurodiversity, including ADHD, autism, and executive functioning concerns, reflects her deep belief that there is no single "right" way to think, feel, or move through the world.
With more than 10 years working with children, adolescents, and families, Brittany brings a nuanced understanding of how relationships, environments, and developmental systems shape who we become and how we experience the world.
"I've always believed in meeting people where they are, because who we are and what we need can look different from one day to the next. I approach therapy with curiosity rather than judgment, making space to explore the patterns, experiences, and questions that matter to you. I believe you should remain in the driver's seat, I'm there to help you make connections and find your way toward the answers that feel meaningful to you."
- Brittany Adams
Brittany Adams is a doctoral student in Applied Clinical Psychology who brings over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families across educational, behavioral, and psychological settings.
With specialized expertise in child and adolescent concerns, neurodevelopmental and learning differences, and behavioral and social-emotional issues, she especially enjoys working with adolescents and young adults who are figuring out who they are and how they want to move through the world. Brittany appreciates the complexity of this life stage, when relationships, independence, school or career, and sense of self can all be changing simultaneously, and she helps clients navigate those changes in ways that feel authentic to them.
Her therapeutic approach is person-centered, strengths-based, behavioral, and CBT-informed, incorporating a developmental and systems-oriented perspective. Brittany's methodology recognizes that individual needs are shaped by family, school, developmental, and environmental systems, allowing her to look beyond a single presenting concern and stay curious about the whole person, including their experiences, strengths, relationships, and environment. She approaches therapy with curiosity rather than judgment, believing that clients should remain in the driver's seat of their own healing journey while she helps them make connections and find their way toward meaningful answers.
With a Master of Science in School Psychology and a California Pupil Personnel Services credential, Brittany brings extensive clinical training combined with her background in psychological assessment. Her expertise includes extensive experience with neurodiversity, including ADHD, autism, learning differences, and executive functioning concerns, grounded in her belief that there is no single "right" way to think, feel, or move through the world. This comprehensive understanding of neurodevelopmental differences, paired with her systems-oriented perspective, allows her to support clients holistically rather than focusing narrowly on isolated symptoms.
Outside the therapy room, Brittany is a big film and pop culture fan who especially loves keeping up with movies during awards season. She enjoys exploring museums and art events, staying active, and wandering around new cities when she travels. As a self-described foodie, she loves trying new restaurants and experimenting in the kitchen, and happily admits that reality TV, especially Bravo, is one of her favorite ways to unwind.
